Sher Afzal’s Remarks Disappointing, Aleema Did Not Ask Me to Resign: Barrister Gohar

**Islamabad (Qudrat Daily):** Barrister Gohar Ali Khan, Chairman of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), has rejected claims made by Sher Afzal Marwat that Aleema Khan sought the party chairmanship or expressed a desire to become chairperson.

Speaking to the media, Barrister Gohar said he was disappointed by Sher Afzal Marwat’s television remarks. He revealed that he had taken a commitment from Marwat to avoid controversial statements, adding that it was inappropriate to appear on multiple channels simultaneously and launch attacks against individuals.

He further stated that sometimes it is better not to respond, but clarified that Aleema Khan had never sent him any message asking him to resign as chairman. “She has never conveyed any impression or message suggesting that she wishes to become party chairperson,” he said.

Barrister Gohar also emphasized that Aleema Khan has never interfered in the matter of party chairmanship. He noted that party elections were held on March 3, 2024, and documents were submitted to the Election Commission on April 10. “We were awaiting the certificate in April 2024, so such remarks have no justification,” he added.

The PTI chairman reiterated his appeal to all party members to refrain from making further controversial statements and to maintain unity within the party.
