PkMAP Condemns Alleged Attempts to Seize Bazai Tribes’ Ancestral Land in Nohisar and Aghberg

Quetta: The provincial secretariat of Pashtunkhwa National Awami Party (PkMAP) has expressed serious concern and strongly condemned alleged attempts by authorities to occupy thousands of acres of ancestral land belonging to the Bazai tribes in the areas of Nohisar and Aghberg.
In a detailed press release, the party stated that any forced or unlawful encroachment on the lands of local tribes is unacceptable and will be resisted at every level. According to the statement, the Bazai tribes have been settled in the vast مناطق of Nohisar and Aghberg for centuries, and the lands in question are part of their inherited property. Even before the creation of Pakistan, the tribes were the lawful owners, settlers, and custodians of these lands, holding legal, historical, social, and moral rights over them.
The party emphasized that any unilateral action regarding the land, decisions made without consulting the local population, or attempts to seize property through force constitute a grave violation of fundamental human and constitutional rights. It maintained that land is not merely an economic asset but is deeply tied to the tribes’ identity, culture, history, and survival, as well as their agriculture, housing, and social structure.
The statement added that if land is required for any development project, industrial zone, or housing scheme, the authorities must strictly follow the Constitution and applicable laws. Prior consent of the local tribes, transparent consultation, fair compensation, and proper alternative arrangements are essential responsibilities of the government.
The provincial secretariat called on the federal and provincial governments, district administration, and relevant departments to immediately halt all actions related to the alleged land occupation. It demanded an impartial review of ground realities and the initiation of meaningful negotiations with representatives of the Bazai tribes. The formation of an empowered and transparent inquiry committee was also urged.
PkMAP warned that if the constitutional and legal rights of the Bazai tribes are violated, the party will approach every democratic, legal, and constitutional forum, including public gatherings, peaceful protests, and courts of law. However, it clarified that all actions would remain peaceful and within the bounds of the law.
The statement concluded by asserting that the Bazai tribes are a dignified and peace-loving community that will not relinquish their ancestral lands under any pressure, and will pursue every constitutional and legal avenue to safeguard their rights and ownership.
