Over 2,000 Illegal Afghan Nationals Arrested in Quetta as Major Crackdown Intensifies

*Quetta (Qudrat News)* — Authorities in Quetta have launched a major crackdown against **illegally residing Afghan nationals**, resulting in the **arrest of over 2,000 individuals** within the past 24 hours. According to officials, **2,038 Afghan citizens** were taken into custody during the latest phase of the ongoing operation targeting illegal residents across the city.
Sources said that many of the detained Afghans had been **living in urban areas of Quetta for years**, contributing to **social and security challenges** in the region. The detainees have been **transferred to a deportation center** established at the **Deputy Commissioner’s Office**, where their identification and documentation are being verified before they are **repatriated to Afghanistan via the Chaman border**.
Since **September 1**, authorities have reportedly **arrested and repatriated more than 60,000 Afghan nationals** from Balochistan as part of the federal government’s initiative to **enforce immigration laws and maintain national order**.
Officials emphasized that the campaign aims to **register all foreign residents** and **uphold the rule of law** throughout the province. Citizens have been urged to **report illegal residents** to the police so that lawful action can be taken to sustain **peace and security** in Quetta.
