No Decision to Abolish Sherani District, Says Balochistan Chief Minister in Zhob Address

Quetta/Zhob: Balochistan Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti has rejected reports suggesting the abolition of Sherani district, terming such impressions “baseless” and clarifying that the government has made no such decision.
Addressing tribal elders and local residents in Zhob, the Chief Minister expressed gratitude for the warm welcome he received and emphasized that public trust remains the government’s greatest strength. He assured that Sherani’s district status remains intact and that no step would be taken without taking the people into confidence.
Bugti announced that a follow-up meeting would be held with the local Member of the Provincial Assembly and district administration to review matters concerning Sherani and address any concerns. He said government decisions are made with a focus on administrative improvement and public convenience, ensuring that no region’s rights are compromised.
The Chief Minister reaffirmed that balanced development across all districts of Balochistan is the government’s top priority and pledged equal opportunities for progress in remote areas. He emphasized that the provincial government remains committed to transparency and public consultation in its policymaking.
