IMF Engaged in Talks with Pakistan Over Proposed Electricity Tariff Revisions

ISLAMABAD: The **International Monetary Fund (IMF)** has confirmed ongoing discussions with the Pakistani government regarding proposed revisions to electricity tariffs.

In statements to foreign news agencies, IMF officials said the talks are focused on ensuring that any potential changes in tariffs do not disproportionately impact middle- and low-income households.

Officials added that the negotiations will also examine whether the proposed tariff adjustments align with government commitments. Additionally, a detailed assessment will be conducted to evaluate the potential effects of the revisions on inflation and overall economic stability in Pakistan.
