Chief of Army Staff Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir Highlights Modernization of Armed Forces and Readiness for Future Warfare

Bhawalpur: Chief of Army Staff and Chief of Defence Forces, Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, has emphasized that Pakistan’s armed forces are undergoing significant transformation to meet the evolving nature of modern warfare and remain fully prepared to defend the country.

According to ISPR, Field Marshal Munir observed large-scale military exercises, Steadfast Resolve, held in Khairpur Tamiwali. The exercises showcased the use of drones, advanced surveillance systems, electronic warfare capabilities, and modern command and control systems.

Praising the professionalism, high morale, and operational readiness of the troops, Field Marshal Munir addressed the personnel, stating that the armed forces are ready at all times to protect national sovereignty and territorial integrity, and possess the ability to counter all forms of threats. He stressed that top-level preparedness is essential at every stage to meet the demands of future battlefields.

He further noted that the armed forces are embracing significant changes across various sectors, highlighting that modern warfare increasingly relies on technological capabilities rather than solely on physical measures. “Adapting to technology requires a mindset shift, which is an urgent need of the time,” he added. He also emphasized that innovation and indigenization would serve as the backbone of Pakistan’s defense modernization.

During his visit, Field Marshal Munir inaugurated the Rohi E-Skills Learning Hub, established to promote digital skills among students in South Punjab and across the country. He also inaugurated the Army Public School Abbasiya Campus, reiterating the army’s commitment to quality education and character building.

Additionally, he visited the EME Regional Workshop, where he received briefings on the maintenance of modern platforms, indigenization efforts, and cutting-edge technology. Upon arrival in Bhawalpur Garrison, Commander Bhawalpur Corps welcomed Field Marshal Munir, who laid floral wreaths at the Martyrs’ Memorial, offered prayers, and paid tribute to the sacrifices of the nation’s heroes.
