Severe Snowstorm Paralyzes Life Across the US, 30 Dead in Weather-Related Incidents

A powerful snowstorm has frozen daily life across the United States, claiming at least 30 lives in weather-related accidents as extreme cold, heavy snowfall, and rain continue to batter large parts of the country.
States including Washington, New York, Texas, Oklahoma, and New Jersey are experiencing intense snowfall accompanied by icy winds and freezing rain. The severe weather has led to the cancellation of nearly 19,000 flights nationwide, while federal offices in Washington have been closed.
From Arkansas to New England, more than one foot of snow has accumulated in many areas, forcing the closure of roads and educational institutions. Northern regions of Pittsburgh recorded up to 20 inches of snowfall, with temperatures plunging to as low as minus 31 degrees Celsius. Some areas are witnessing the coldest conditions in decades.
In New York City, authorities reported that the bodies of eight people were found in open areas amid the extreme cold. Meanwhile, more than one million people across the country remain without electricity due to the storm.
The National Weather Service has issued extreme cold warnings for nearly 200 million people across 44 states, while emergencies have been declared in 24 states. Meteorologists have warned that even harsher cold conditions and the possibility of another major snowstorm could impact the eastern coastal regions in the coming days.
