IMF Chief Lauds Pakistan’s Economic Reforms and Stability Efforts

WASHINGTON: Managing Director of the International Monetary Fund, Kristalina Georgieva, has expressed satisfaction over Pakistan’s ongoing economic reform process, praising recent improvements in macroeconomic stability.

The remarks came following a meeting with Pakistan’s Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb, where discussions focused on the country’s reform agenda and economic outlook.

In a statement shared on social media, Georgieva commended Pakistan’s progress, noting that the reform programme is being implemented effectively and has contributed to greater economic stability.

She also highlighted that investor confidence in Pakistan has improved, emphasizing that consistency in sound economic policies remains essential for sustained growth.

The IMF chief further stated that continued structural reforms are necessary to ensure long-term development and resilience in the economy.
