Actor Mouni Roy Alleges Harassment on Stage During Haryana Event

Mumbai: Bollywood actress Mouni Roy has spoken out about an alleged harassment incident that occurred while she was performing at an event in Karnal, Haryana, describing the experience as mentally distressing and humiliating.
In a detailed post shared on her Instagram Stories, Mouni said the event, held as a celebration, turned uncomfortable the moment she approached the stage. She claimed that several elderly men and other individuals placed their hands on her back while taking photographs. She immediately objected and asked them to remove their hands, but the behavior reportedly continued.
According to the actress, two men stood directly in front of her, making inappropriate comments, gestures, and sounds. She initially tried to handle the situation politely, but in response, some individuals even threw roses at her. At one point, Mouni considered leaving the stage, though she ultimately returned and completed her performance.
Expressing her disappointment, Mouni stated that neither the event organizers nor the families present intervened to stop the harassment. She also mentioned that the stage was elevated, and some people were filming from below, verbally abusing her when asked to stop.
Mouni described feeling inferior, fearful, and mentally shaken by the incident and urged authorities to take action against such behavior. She emphasized that artists earn their livelihood honestly through their talent and questioned how these perpetrators would react if the same behavior were directed at their daughters, sisters, or women at home.
The actress added that she typically does not share negative experiences publicly, but this incident crossed the line. She concluded her message by expressing her love for her country, its people, and traditions, while condemning such unacceptable behavior.
