National Assembly YouTube Channel Not Shut Down, Spokesperson Clarifies

Islamabad: The spokesperson for the National Assembly has clarified that the National Assembly’s official YouTube channel has not been shut down, rejecting circulating reports claiming its closure as false.
In an official statement, the spokesperson said the channel faced temporary technical issues due to a social media server outage. However, the problem was resolved, and the channel is now fully operational. The spokesperson added that proceedings of the joint session of Parliament and speeches delivered in the National Assembly have been uploaded to the channel.
The spokesperson also criticized the dissemination of unverified reports, stating that fabricated news regarding the alleged shutdown was circulated without obtaining the official stance of the National Assembly Secretariat or its spokesperson prior to publication or broadcast.
It is worth noting that some journalists and the news agency INP had earlier reported that the National Assembly’s YouTube channel had gone missing. The reports claimed that live coverage of National Assembly proceedings had not been available on the official YouTube link for several days.
The National Assembly Secretariat has now dismissed these claims, terming them baseless and misleading.
