Ticket Checker Suspended After Slapping Female Passenger on Moving Train, Video Goes Viral

Lahore: Pakistan Railways has suspended a special ticket examiner after a video surfaced showing him slapping a female passenger aboard a moving train.
According to railway officials, the incident took place on the Pakistan Express train traveling from Faisalabad to Rawalpindi. The suspended official has been identified as Special Ticket Examiner Irshad. Divisional Commercial Officer Abdullah Arshad confirmed that Irshad has been suspended and a formal inquiry has been initiated into the matter.
Railway sources said the dispute began over luggage being placed in the passageway of the train. A verbal altercation broke out between passengers, which escalated after some individuals started recording videos. The situation eventually turned violent, during which the ticket checker was seen slapping a female passenger. The train reportedly remained halted for some time during the incident.
Other passengers intervened and managed to defuse the situation. Following complaints from passengers, railway authorities launched disciplinary proceedings.
Officials said that on Monday, the suspended ticket examiner, along with the on-duty police personnel and the train guard, will appear before the inquiry committee. The incident reportedly occurred four to five days ago, but gained attention after the video went viral on social media.
Pakistan Railways officials have stated that strict action will be taken if the allegations are proven during the inquiry.
