Unaware of Any Contact Between Nawaz Sharif and Mahmood Achakzai: Rana Sanaullah

**Islamabad:** Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s Adviser on Political Affairs, Senator Rana Sanaullah, has said that he has no knowledge of any contact or communication between PML-N leader Nawaz Sharif and Mahmood Khan Achakzai.

Speaking to a private television channel, Rana Sanaullah said that the government had taken a positive and constructive step, adding that Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) should also adopt a positive approach, as such steps help build mutual trust. He noted that the process for appointing the Leader of the Opposition in the Senate would begin next week.

He further stated that the founder of PTI is not in favor of dialogue, and that whenever PTI members meet them, they say their leader is not ready for negotiations.

Rana Sanaullah added that after consulting opposition members, the Speaker completed the required process and issued the notification for Mahmood Khan Achakzai as Leader of the Opposition in the National Assembly. He also said that the process for appointing Allama Raja Nasir Abbas as Leader of the Opposition in the Senate would begin once the Senate Chairman returns.
