Lahore: Singer Sanwal Essa Khelvi has released the famous 1970s classic song “Bewafa” in collaboration with his father, legendary Pakistani singer Attaullah Essa Khelvi, presenting the timeless track in a fresh and modern style.

Attaullah Essa Khelvi, one of Pakistan’s most iconic folk and classical singers, along with his son Sanwal Essa Khelvi, has given music lovers a pleasant New Year surprise by reviving the popular song “Bewafa”, which is considered a hallmark of Attaullah’s musical legacy.

The song features lyrics in both Urdu and Siraiki and was originally released in the 1970s, earning widespread acclaim and becoming closely associated with Attaullah Essa Khelvi’s identity. The newly released version blends contemporary music arrangements and modern visual treatment while preserving the original emotional depth, pain, and simplicity that made the song a classic.

Fans have praised the remake as a beautiful fusion of two generations, successfully connecting the past with the present and keeping the soul of classic Pakistani music alive.

Speaking on the occasion, Sanwal Essa Khelvi said that performing the song alongside his father is a matter of great honor for him. “This is not just a song, but our musical heritage,” he remarked, adding that “Bewafa” serves both as a nostalgic revival for long-time fans and as a meaningful introduction of classic Pakistani music for the younger generation.
