Renowned Newscaster Ishrat Fatima Bids Farewell to Radio Pakistan After Long and Memorable Career
Lahore: Pakistan’s celebrated newscaster Ishrat Fatima has officially concluded her long and distinguished career at Radio Pakistan.
Addressing her fans on social media, Ishrat Fatima expressed heartfelt gratitude to all her followers on her final day at Radio Pakistan. She requested her audience to continue following her on platforms including YouTube, Instagram, X, Threads, and Facebook for her future endeavors.

Ishrat Fatima began her career with Radio Pakistan’s program Khel Aur Khilari. She initially presented weather updates on PTV and later gained immense popularity as a newsreader on the 9 PM Urdu news bulletin. Throughout the 1980s, 1990s, and 2000s, her distinctive style, diction, and unique voice made her particularly beloved among viewers.
She remained associated with PTV until 2007, after which she joined Radio Pakistan. Fatima has also been affiliated with Voice of America and was hosting current affairs programs at Radio Pakistan before her retirement.
