Pakistan, Bangladesh Sign Education Agreement; 500 Bangladeshi Students to Receive Scholarships

Karachi: Pakistan and Bangladesh have finalized an agreement to strengthen cooperation in the education sector, under which 500 Bangladeshi students will be granted scholarships to study at Pakistani universities.

According to sources in the Higher Education Commission (HEC), in the first phase, Bangladeshi students will be offered admissions in various universities across different cities of Pakistan. The students will be able to pursue higher education in Pakistan on fully funded scholarships.

HEC sources said that the scholarships will be provided for undergraduate programs, covering full tuition and other educational expenses. The scholarship program has been named after Allama Iqbal, symbolizing the historical and cultural ties between the two countries.

A large number of Bangladeshi students participated in the entry tests conducted under the supervision of HEC. The tests were held in Chattogram, Dhaka, and Rajshahi.

HEC sources further stated that Bangladeshi youth warmly welcomed Pakistani officials during the entry test process and also took photographs with them, reflecting enthusiasm and goodwill toward Pakistan.

The agreement marks a significant step in enhancing educational collaboration and people-to-people ties between Pakistan and Bangladesh.
