Violence Erupts in Gwadar; Government Convenes Emergency Meeting

Gwadar:under the leadership of Balochistan’s Minister of Interior, Mir Ziaullah Langove, a high-level meeting was convened to address the security situation and recent protests in the city. Deputy Commissioner Gwadar, Ahmed Lala Rehman, along with other senior officials, participated in the meeting.
During a detailed briefing on the security and protest situation in Gwadar, it was reported that after a day of calm, protests erupted again today. Protesters attacked and vandalized the Women Police Station in Gwadar, resulting in injuries to two police officers. Additionally, agitated demonstrators stormed and set fire to the offices of the Balochistan National Accountability Bureau (BNR), destroying government records.
Minister Ziaullah Langove expressed concern over the recurring protests and warned that the government and state’s patience should not be tested further. He criticized the demonstrators for causing distress to the common people during their protests, questioning the humanity behind such actions. He emphasized that while peaceful protests are within the bounds of the law, attacking government properties and assaulting security forces cannot be tolerated.
The meeting concluded with expectations of several important decisions to be made regarding the ongoing unrest in Gwadar.
