UAE Consul General in Karachi Issues Heatwave Safety Guidelines for Workers

The Consul General of the United Arab Emirates in Karachi, Dr. Bakheet Ateeq, has issued special instructions aimed at protecting workers during the ongoing severe heatwave in the city.
In a statement, Dr. Ateeq directed that work activities should be suspended from 12:30 pm to 3:00 pm during peak heat hours to reduce the risk of heat-related illnesses among workers.
He further instructed employers to provide shaded rest areas and ensure the availability of clean drinking water and other basic facilities to safeguard workers from the extreme weather conditions.
The Consul General emphasized that protecting workers during harsh climatic conditions is a humanitarian and moral responsibility, urging strict compliance with safety measures during the heatwave.
