Severe Cold Grips Pakistan as Temperature Drops to Minus 20 in Hunza

**Islamabad (Qudrat Daily):**
A severe cold wave continues to grip Pakistan, with temperatures plunging to unusually low levels in several parts of the country, disrupting daily life.
Cold conditions are prevailing across the country, including Karachi. In Punjab, the cold has intensified, and an alert has been issued for severe cold, fog, and snowfall from January 10 to January 16.
In the northern region of Hunza, the temperature has dropped to as low as minus 20 degrees Celsius, reflecting extreme weather conditions. Quetta has also recorded temperatures close to minus 1 degree Celsius.
Similarly, major cities such as Islamabad, Lahore, and Peshawar have experienced temperatures ranging between 1 and 4 degrees Celsius. Even the coastal city of Karachi has seen a significant drop, with cold winds pushing temperatures down to single digits, between 7 and 9 degrees Celsius.
Dense fog during morning hours in Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and other regions has prompted authorities to advise against unnecessary travel, while traffic movement has also been affected.
The National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) and the Pakistan Meteorological Department have issued advisories urging citizens to take precautionary measures, wear warm clothing, and remain cautious during the ongoing severe cold spell.
