Faisal Vawda Claims Lt Gen (Retd) Faiz Hameed to Testify Against Imran Khan With Evidence

Islamabad: Senator **Faisal Vawda** has claimed that former DG ISI **Faiz Hameed**, who was recently sentenced to 14 years of rigorous imprisonment by a military court, is now preparing to testify against PTI founder **Imran Khan** with “solid evidence.” He added that this is “only the beginning” and the accountability process “will not stop here.”

Speaking on a private TV talk show, Vawda said that he had warned his former party a year before May 9, when he was expelled, not to cross lines that would make return impossible. He stated that crimes involving “enmity with the state, institutions, democracy, the national flag, and the martyrs” carry penalties such as 14 years in jail or even the death sentence.

### **“Faiz Hameed Will Testify About Orders He Received From Imran Khan”**

Vawda claimed that Faiz Hameed will present detailed evidence regarding the orders he allegedly received from Imran Khan during his tenure as prime minister, particularly with reference to the events of **May 9**.

He said that when the evidence surfaces, PTI leaders who distanced themselves but were involved at the time—especially those currently in jail—will also be brought to the stand. “Those who sat on the seat of justice and used their pen against the state will also face accountability,” he added.

### **“This Is Only the Beginning; The Noose Will Tighten Further”**

The senator insisted that the accountability process is in its early stages. Referring to Faiz Hameed’s alleged role in earlier political events, he accused the former intelligence chief of facilitating certain actions from within the system.

He said, “There is a difference between punishment in uniform and punishment without uniform. Credit goes to the CDF Field Marshal for not only defeating a larger enemy but also setting an example within the institution.”

According to Vawda, the 14-year sentence will not be reduced, and further trials will include testimony and evidence that will “shock the nation,” noting that emotional reactions—love or hatred—tend to intensify.

Vawda claimed that after the evidence is presented, Faiz Hameed may become “number two” in terms of accountability, while **PTI and Imran Khan will be at the top of the list**.

Speaking about Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Sohaib Afridi, he called him “temporary, incompetent and ineffective,” saying the CM has already stepped back. He claimed PTI leaders are desperate to record even a short 10–20 second audio for Imran Khan but are being denied permission. “Minus One has now become completely minus one,” he said.

Vawda warned that any political actor who follows the same path will face a “logical, legal, and harsh end,” adding: “This is written on the wall now.”
