PPP Leader Pays Tribute to Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto on His Birth Anniversary

Quetta (Qudrat Daily): Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Balochistan leader Hayat Khan Achakzai has paid rich tribute to the founder chairman of PPP, the country’s first elected Prime Minister and Quaid-e-Awam Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto on his birth anniversary, saying that he was one of the greatest public leaders in the history of the subcontinent who empowered the oppressed, deprived and neglected segments of society with political awareness, dignity and the right to participate in decision-making.

He said Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto assumed power at a time when Pakistan was facing severe political, economic and diplomatic crises, yet he not only united the nation but also laid a strong foundation for parliamentary democracy by giving the country the unanimous Constitution of 1973. He added that this Constitution continues to guarantee federalism, provincial autonomy, fundamental human rights and democratic continuity.

Hayat Khan Achakzai said that Quaid-e-Awam laid the foundation of Pakistan’s nuclear program to make the country’s defense invincible and sent a clear message that no compromise would be made on national security. He further said that the historic Islamic Summit Conference held in 1974 under Bhutto’s leadership united the Muslim world on one platform and elevated Pakistan’s status in the Islamic world.

He said Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto introduced an independent and self-respecting foreign policy, strengthened relations with friendly countries including China, and firmly defended Pakistan’s national interests before global powers. He added that labor reforms, land reforms, nationalization of industries and opening educational institutions to the common people were among the revolutionary steps taken during his tenure to safeguard the rights of workers, farmers and government employees.

The PPP leader said that Quaid-e-Awam’s slogan and philosophy of “Roti, Kapra aur Makan” was not merely a political slogan but a comprehensive socio-economic vision aimed at ensuring a dignified life for every citizen. He said that the Pakistan Peoples Party continues to struggle for democracy, federalism, provincial autonomy, social justice and the protection of public rights in line with this ideology.

Hayat Khan Achakzai said that the people-friendly mission of Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto was carried forward by Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto through her ultimate sacrifices, and today Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari is actively working to transfer this ideology to the new generation in order to make Pakistan a progressive, democratic and prosperous state.

He reiterated that PPP workers would continue their struggle with full resolve to establish a strong, sovereign, prosperous and truly democratic Pakistan by following the thoughts, struggle and public philosophy of Quaid-e-Awam Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto.
