First Supermoon of 2026 to Appear on January 3–4, Says SUPARCO

**Islamabad:** Pakistan’s space agency, SUPARCO, has announced that the first supermoon of 2026 will be visible on January 3 and 4.
According to a SUPARCO spokesperson, the supermoon, traditionally referred to as the “Wolf Moon,” will coincide with the peak of the Quadrantid meteor shower. The moon is expected to rise at 5:51 PM, appearing 99.8% illuminated, with the distance between the Earth and the moon approximately 362,000 kilometers.
The spokesperson also mentioned that the series of supermoons for 2026 will continue later in November.
