Elections Postponed Out of Fear of PTI-Led Alliance, Says Balochistan National Party

**Quetta (Qudrat Daily):** The Balochistan National Party (BNP) expressed concern over the postponement of local government elections in Quetta, alleging that the delay was motivated by fear of a major defeat at the hands of the public-forceful parties included in Tehreek Tahafuz-e-Aain Pakistan (TTA).

In an official statement, BNP said that from the outset, efforts were made to delay elections, and, following previous practices, the judiciary was relied upon to restrict the power of the vote. The statement claimed that parties within the ruling Form-47 coalition are well aware that the real representative parties in Quetta and Balochistan could dominate the elections, and out of fear and reputational concerns, they sought support from the Election Commission, Balochistan High Court, and now the Federal Constitutional Court to postpone the polls.

BNP described the postponement of local government elections as a defeat for the ruling parties, asserting that whenever elections are held, the public support for Form-47 coalition parties becomes evident. The party expressed hope that the court will soon fulfill its constitutional duty and allow citizens to exercise their right to vote.
