SBK Teachers Recruitment Scandal: Anti-Corruption Summons Former Vice Chancellor Sajida Noreen, Arrests Expected

Quetta: Significant progress has been made in the teachers’ recruitment scandal involving government schools in Balochistan, as the Anti-Corruption Establishment (ACE) has launched a major crackdown and summoned key officials, including former Vice Chancellor of SBK Women University, Sajida Noreen, and Project Director Zamir Ahmed Kurd.
Following the exposure of alleged corruption in teachers’ appointments, anti-corruption teams conducted raids in Shahbaz Town, Jinnah Town, and adjoining areas of Quetta, seizing important records from private offices and institutions. The scandal revolves around allegations that teaching posts were awarded in exchange for money.
Notices have also been issued to the Chairman of CTS-SP, Faisal Kakar, in connection with allegations of illegally passing around 600 allegedly failed female candidates and embezzling billions of rupees during the recruitment process. Officials from other departments and testing services have also been summoned for questioning.
Concerns have additionally been raised regarding recruitments carried out by the Balochistan Secondary Education Department. Anti-corruption officials stated that evidence is continuously emerging during the investigation and arrests of several officers involved in the scandal are likely in the coming days.
