Judicial Complex Attack Case: Bail Confirmed for Omar Ayub, Shibli Faraz, and Others
Islamabad: The Islamabad Anti-Terrorism Court has confirmed bail for Ali Nawaz Awan, Shibli Faraz, Omar Ayub, Omar Sultan, and retired Colonel Asim in the case related to the Judicial Complex attack. Judge Tahir Abbas Separa presided over the hearings. PTI lawyer Babar Awan and other attorneys appeared before the court, alongside Omar Ayub, Shibli Faraz, Amjad Niazi, Ali Nawaz Awan, and other PTI members.
Babar Awan stated that some suspects could not appear today and requested the court to decide on their bail applications upon their availability. Judge Tahir Abbas Separa inquired about the absence of Ali Amin Gandapur and sought information regarding his future appearance. PTI lawyers assured the court of confirming his presence.
Babar Awan mentioned that Omar Ayub is scheduled to appear before a Lahore court. Judge Tahir Abbas Separa remarked that all accused are standing on the same stage, and decisions on bail requests will be collective. Babar Awan cited Section 497, which grants bail upon surrendering before the court, referencing previous approvals for PTI founders and Asad Umar.
Judge Tahir Abbas Separa raised an inquiry about whether decisions on bail applications could be reconsidered after advertising, to which court proceedings are ongoing even after withdrawing bail applications. Ali Amin Gandapur’s lawyer, Raja Zahoor, appeared before the court seeking exemption due to adverse conditions affecting his presence.
Raja Zahoor, the advocate, explained that Ali Amin Gandapur had traveled to Karim Town, making his attendance challenging. Judge Tahir Abbas Separa instructed PTI lawyers to provide the court with relevant judicial decisions. Due to Ali Amin Gandapur’s absence, the court postponed the hearing until September 4.
