PkNAP Expresses Deep Grief Over Passing of Human Rights Activist Mama Qadeer Baloch

Quetta:The Pashtunkhwa National Awami Party (PkNAP) has expressed profound sorrow and grief over the passing of Mama Qadeer Baloch, Vice Chairman of the Baloch Missing Persons Movement and a prominent human rights activist known for his tireless struggle against enforced disappearances.

In a press release issued by the party’s provincial secretariat, PkNAP described Mama Qadeer Baloch as a courageous and fearless figure who transformed personal tragedy into a collective struggle, becoming a powerful voice for the oppressed, particularly families affected by enforced disappearances. The statement said his death has deeply saddened not only the Baloch people but also oppressed communities, human rights defenders, and justice-seeking circles across the country.

The party noted that despite facing the unimaginable tragedy of his son’s enforced disappearance and the subsequent recovery of his tortured body, Mama Qadeer did not lose courage. Instead, he turned his grief into strength and launched an unprecedented and historic movement against enforced disappearances. His long and arduous march from Quetta to Islamabad played a vital role in exposing state repression, extrajudicial actions, and serious human rights violations at the national and international levels.

The statement further highlighted that Mama Qadeer’s years-long protest camp outside the Quetta Press Club stood as proof that the voice of truth cannot be silenced. His peaceful, persistent, and principled struggle became a beacon of hope for the oppressed and a question mark for oppressive forces, bringing the issue of enforced disappearances into national and global focus.

PkNAP said Mama Qadeer Baloch rejected fear, pressure, temptation, and threats, and remained steadfast alongside the oppressed. His sacrifices, bravery, and perseverance have become part of history and will continue to serve as a guiding light for future generations.

The party concluded by extending heartfelt condolences to Mama Qadeer Baloch’s family, relatives, activists of the Baloch Missing Persons Movement, and the entire Baloch nation. PkNAP prayed that Allah Almighty grant the departed soul a high place in His mercy, accept his lifelong struggle, and give patience, strength, and steadfastness to the bereaved family to endure this great loss.
