Allegations Against JUI Chief Maulana Fazlur Rahman Are Proof of Opponents’ Desperation: Maulana Abdul Wasey

QUETTA – Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (JUI) Balochistan Provincial Ameer Senator Maulana Abdul Wasey and Provincial Secretary General Agha Mahmood Shah have said that levelling allegations and character assassination against JUI chief Maulana Fazlur Rahman has been made an easy means of securing government representatives’ jobs. Whenever JUI holds successful public gatherings in various parts of the country, including Punjab, opponents try to prove their political loyalty through false propaganda. They said that in the past, YouTubers and irresponsible elements were used to run negative campaigns against Maulana Fazlur Rahman, but now federal and provincial ministers also appear to be following the same path, which is regrettable and condemnable. They said that elements who in the past claimed to have crossed all limits against the establishment are today busy proving their loyalty by representing it, while the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa governor is also engaging in political rhetoric to please his political masters.

They said the Balochistan chief minister may find criticism of his government’s failures unpleasant, but pointing out public issues is the responsibility of the political leadership and the media; remaining silent on failures is not justice to the people. They said a government established on coercion does not have genuine public support, and how long can people be misled through lies and deception? Instead of targeting the JUI chief to cover up government failures, attention should be focused on resolving serious issues such as inflation, unemployment, and unrest. They said Maulana Fazlur Rahman’s political struggle and public popularity do not need any government certificate; his political standing will be decided not by hired social media propaganda but by public support. Agha Mahmood Shah said JUI’s successful public gatherings have proven that public trust cannot be eliminated through negative campaigns and character assassination; opponents should compete in the political arena with argument and performance, not resort to false allegations and baseless propaganda.
