Delays and Substandard Material in Development Projects Will Not Be Tolerated, Public Relief is Responsibility: Nawabzada Amir Hamza Zehri

*Quetta (Daily Qudrat)* Provincial Minister for Local Government and Rural Development, Nawabzada Amir Hamza Zehri, along with the Secretary of Local Government and Administrator of Quetta Metropolitan Corporation, conducted a detailed inspection of ongoing and completed development projects across the city under the Metropolitan Corporation Quetta. The visit aimed to assess the quality and pace of the work.
During the tour, the Chief Municipal Engineer briefed the provincial minister on various projects. At Kuch Mor Road, a 2.5 km stretch was equipped with 252 solar streetlights at a cost of PKR 150 million, significantly improving lighting and public safety.
Nawabzada Amir Hamza Zehri also visited Baba Fareedi Scheme, where tuff tiling, streetlights, and a boring project were completed at a cost of PKR 6 million. He reviewed the under-construction modern QMC Café, which will accommodate approximately 1,500 people upon completion. The minister instructed officials to expedite project completion and assured full support from the Balochistan government.
Administrator QMC Mujeeb-ur-Rehman Qamberani briefed the minister on project progress, costs, and completion stages. Secretary Local Government Abdul Rauf Baloch, DG Local Government Muhammad Ayub Qureshi, Chief Officer QMC Nazar Khan Zehri, Haji Salahuddin Zehri, Ishaq Mengal, and other officials were also present.
Nawabzada Amir Hamza Zehri strongly directed officials that no delays, disruptions, or use of substandard materials in ongoing projects would be tolerated, and no compromises would be accepted. He emphasized that all projects must be completed on time and to the highest standards.
He stated that ensuring the public benefits from development projects is a joint responsibility of the Local Government Department and the Metropolitan Corporation. The Balochistan government is deploying all available resources to provide citizens with basic facilities at their doorstep. Officials were urged to perform their duties with honesty and professionalism to deliver real relief to the people.
