Former President of Supreme Court Bar Association Criticizes Gwadar Protests
Quetta:Former President of the Supreme Court Bar Association, Amanullah Kanrani, has ridiculed the Gwadar protests as anti-national and characterized public participation in them as detrimental. He expressed disbelief that residents from across Balochistan travel hundreds of kilometers from places like Gwadar, Koh-e-Suleiman, Nasirabad, Saryab, Kili Ismail, Awaran, Lasbela, Kech, and Panjgur to Gwadar to peacefully participate in demonstrations, calling them all enemies of the state.
Kanrani criticized those who receive salaries, cars, and jobs from the government, unable to leave their homes, busy serving the nation in air-conditioned rooms. He questioned whether this minority represents the majority of patriotic citizens who have been seen protesting on the streets against the government’s affluent policies for the past two days.
Highlighting the unity among people bound by love for their homeland, he dismissed government claims of division. Kanrani insisted that all citizens are filled with love for the country, while the government divides people through its policies benefiting only the affluent.
The supposed referendum between the government and the people ended with the victory of peace and the defeat of armed authorities. Despite international ridicule, a session was held where bullets were fired at buses, causing harm, and unarmed civilians were targeted amidst stone-throwing incidents.
