Shireen Mazari Breaks Down While Speaking About Daughter Imaan Mazari
ISLAMABAD: Former federal minister Dr. Shireen Mazari became emotional while speaking to the media after the hearing of a case involving her daughter, lawyer and human rights activist Imaan Mazari, and her son-in-law Hadi Ali Chattha at the Islamabad High Court.
Speaking to reporters on the premises of the high court, Mazari questioned the justice system and alleged that Chief Justice Sarfraz Dogar was taking personal revenge against her daughter.
“If a person convicted of murder is sentenced to 14 years in prison under the law, but someone is sentenced to 17 years over a single tweet, the question is: who is taking revenge on my children?” she said.
Mazari said Imaan Mazari and Hadi Ali Chattha had consistently provided legal assistance to human rights defenders, poor people and those without a voice, often taking up their cases without charging fees.
She said it was unfortunate that the same lawyers were now behind bars and were struggling to find legal representation for their own cases.

According to Mazari, the cases involving the two lawyers were not being heard in accordance with the principles of justice and were being unnecessarily delayed.
She alleged that Chief Justice Sarfraz Dogar was personally targeting her daughter, calling the allegation a matter of serious concern for the higher judiciary.
Mazari further expressed disappointment with the proceedings, saying that she had lost hope of receiving justice from the Islamabad High Court. She claimed that during the hearing, the judge remained silent and eventually adjourned the matter by giving another date.
The former federal minister reiterated her concerns over what she described as unequal treatment in the justice system and questioned the prolonged proceedings against her daughter and son-in-law.
