Punjab Launches Online System for Birth, Death, Marriage and Divorce Registration

Lahore: In a major step toward citizen convenience, the Punjab government has officially launched a modern online system for the registration of births, deaths, marriages and divorces.
Under the new system, residents can now complete these essential registrations **from home**, without visiting government offices, standing in long queues or waiting for hours. The system is directly connected to **NADRA’s central database**, ensuring that all records are instantly updated in the national system.
The Punjab Local Government Department, in collaboration with NADRA, has developed the new **CRMS (Civil Registration Management System)** app. The application was inaugurated by Punjab Minister for Local Government Zeeshan Rafique during a ceremony in Lahore.
Speaking at the event, Zeeshan Rafique said that the new app will make the process of obtaining and registering certificates significantly easier. Citizens can upload all required details through their mobile phones or computers, and once approved, the certificates will be available for download directly from the platform.
He further shared that the Local Government Department and NADRA finalized the agreement for this e-registration system a few months ago, and a secure, advanced digital application has been successfully developed in a short period.
The project is being hailed as an important milestone in Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif’s **“Digital Punjab”** vision, which aims to gradually move all government services online across the province.
The minister added that the new system will enable accurate and verified records of births, marriages, divorces and deaths throughout the province—facilitating government planning as well as improving public service delivery. The system will be connected to all union councils in Punjab, allowing every citizen’s data to remain securely stored on a single platform.
With this digital initiative, Punjab is emerging as a leading example of modern governance, making essential civil services more accessible and efficient for the public.
