Balochistan CM Pledges Strong, Equitable Health Reforms for a Healthy Future

Quetta: On the occasion of **Universal Health Coverage Day**, Balochistan Chief Minister **Mir Sarfaraz Bugti** emphasized that **quality and accessible healthcare** is not only a fundamental human right but also the primary responsibility of the state. He said the provincial government is taking **practical, sustainable, and effective measures** to fulfill this duty.

The Chief Minister highlighted that **integrated reforms** are underway to strengthen the healthcare sector in Balochistan, aiming to provide citizens with **quick, reliable, and accessible treatment**, whether they live in urban centers or remote mountainous areas.

“For many regions in Balochistan, basic healthcare services are being provided for the first time since the creation of Pakistan, reflecting the **historic and extraordinary initiatives** of the current provincial government,” he said. Programs focusing on **maternal and child health** are being modernized to ensure future generations benefit from **safe and improved medical care**.

Mir Sarfaraz Bugti added that **investment in healthcare** lays the foundation for **social stability and a prosperous future**, and comprehensive reforms in government hospitals are being implemented to ensure **free treatment for the underprivileged**. These initiatives are already showing **positive impacts on citizens’ lives**.

He stressed that a **robust healthcare system** is crucial in emergencies or disaster situations, and the government is committed to rapid progress in policies that ensure **equal access to healthcare** and meet **public welfare goals**.

The Chief Minister reaffirmed that ongoing reforms in the health sector will lay the groundwork for a **strong, safe, fair, and healthy future** for the people of Balochistan in the years ahead.
