KESCO Defaulters’ Outstanding Dues Reach Rs750 Billion; Government Departments Owe Rs44 Billion, Power Disconnections Ordered: CEO Yousaf Shah

Quetta (Daily Qudrat): The Quetta Electric Supply Company (KESCO) has revealed that the total outstanding electricity dues from defaulters have reached **Rs750 billion** as of October 2025. Of this amount, the provincial government and its subordinate departments owe **Rs44.29 billion**, while **Rs60.70 billion** remain unpaid under the agricultural subsidy, with no payments made since July 2024.
Furthermore, provincial government sub-departments paid only **28%** of their October dues, while other defaulting consumers—including domestic, commercial, and industrial users—collectively owe **Rs47.86 billion**.
KESCO Chief Executive Officer Engineer **Yousaf Shah Khan** has issued directives to all operational circles to accelerate the recovery of outstanding payments from government departments and other consumers without any concession. He warned that connections of all defaulters will be disconnected after the deadline.
According to KESCO data, outstanding dues against government departments include:
* Public Health Engineering: **Rs21,480 million**
* Local Bodies: **Rs3,239 million**
* Secondary Education: **Rs8,766 million**
* Police: **Rs1,419 million**
* Deputy Commissioner Offices: **Rs1,260 million**
* Health Department: **Rs3,829 million**
* Agriculture: **Rs510 million**
* Local Government & Rural Development: **Rs435 million**
* Colleges & Higher Education: **Rs686 million**
* C&W: **Rs384 million**
* Prisons: **Rs200 million**
* Fisheries: **Rs130 million**
* Irrigation: **Rs201 million**
* Livestock: **Rs184 million**
* Buildings: **Rs229 million**
* Social Welfare: **Rs128 million**
* WASA: **Rs237 million**
* Gwadar Development Authority: **Rs53 million**
KESCO has urged all defaulters to clear their dues immediately, warning that electricity connections will be disconnected without delay if payments are not made.
