Government to Launch AI-Based App to Curb Illegal Immigration

Islamabad: The government has decided to tighten its crackdown on individuals traveling abroad using fake documents and introduce an **AI-based application** to curb illegal immigration.
The decision was made during a meeting chaired by Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi and Minister for Overseas Pakistanis Chaudhry Salik Hussain. Several key reforms were discussed, including making the **protector issuance system foolproof** and improving the **immigration process** to facilitate travelers. The ministers have sought final recommendations within seven days.
A **crackdown on fake visa operators and agent mafias** was also ordered.
Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi stated that a **pilot project** of the AI-based app is being launched, which will help determine whether a person is eligible to travel or not. He reiterated a **zero-tolerance policy** against fake visas and human smuggling networks.
Naqvi added that passports of deported individuals will be **canceled**, and steps will be taken to ensure they do not receive visas again. Additionally, a **standardized international driving license** will be issued by the National Police Bureau.
He emphasized that people using illegal means to go abroad harm Pakistan’s international reputation, and the goal of immigration reforms is to **facilitate the public** and **improve the country’s global image**.
Minister for Overseas Pakistanis Chaudhry Salik Hussain stressed that individuals traveling on labor visas must possess **authentic documents**, and the ministry will extend full cooperation to improve the protector and immigration systems.
