Jamaat-e-Islami Announces Nationwide Protest Movement Under “Badal Do Nizam” Campaign

Lahore — Jamaat-e-Islami Pakistan Ameer Hafiz Naeem ur Rehman has announced a nationwide protest movement, including rallies and sit-ins across major cities, under the “Badal Do Nizam” (Change the System) campaign.

Addressing hundreds of thousands of participants at the concluding session of the three-day *All Pakistan Ijtema-e-Aam* at Minar-e-Pakistan, Lahore, Hafiz Naeem said the movement aims to dismantle the “corrupt judicial and governance system” and hold those misusing the constitution accountable before the nation’s 250 million citizens.

### **Nationwide Agitation Announced**

Hafiz Naeem revealed that protests and sit-ins will be organized in **25 major cities over the next three months** to mobilize the public. He claimed that Jamaat-e-Islami would free Pakistan from the control of “a handful of powerful individuals,” adding that the party rejects any “field marshal system” and seeks the implementation of divine law.

He declared that Jamaat-e-Islami will **not form alliances with any political party**. He also demanded lifting the ban on Tehreek-e-Labbaik Pakistan (TLP) and the release of PTI founder Imran Khan.

### **Reforms and Political Stance**

The JI chief called for elections based on **proportional representation** and demanded that local governments be given full administrative and financial authority, with constitutional protection. He vowed to launch a movement against the “fake local government act” in Punjab.

Speaking about Karachi, Hafiz Naeem said that despite being deprived of the mayorship, Jamaat-e-Islami has begun developmental work in nine towns and is performing beyond its limited powers.

### **National Issues and Foreign Policy**

He emphasized that the party would raise its voice against injustice without adopting an ethnic or nationalist agenda. “Pakistan belongs to every ethnicity,” he said, adding that a system of justice must prevail.

On foreign policy, Hafiz Naeem stressed that issues with Afghanistan should be resolved through dialogue and urged Kabul to ensure its soil is not used for terrorism in Pakistan.

He criticized Pakistan’s reliance on the United States, stating that previous governments’ alignment with Washington had harmed the country. He rejected any move toward recognizing the Trump-era peace plan or joining the Abraham Accords, warning that the people would turn such rulers into “examples.”

### **Kashmir Policy**

Reaffirming support for Kashmir, he said Pakistan cannot abandon the Kashmiri people and demanded the government fulfill its responsibilities. He stated that Kashmiris must be granted the right to self-determination in line with UN resolutions and warned that any compromise on the issue would not be forgiven by the nation.

### **Youth Development Initiatives**

Hafiz Naeem announced the launch of the **“Z-Connect” program**, aimed at equipping youth with modern education, skills, startup support, micro-financing, and talent development in sports. Character-building programs for Gen Z will also be introduced.

He clarified that Jamaat-e-Islami will not field any candidate until general elections are announced, emphasizing that discipline is essential for any successful movement.

Leaders from Jamaat-e-Islami, including Liaqat Baloch, Maulana Hidayat ur Rehman Baloch, and Inayat ur Rehman Khan, as well as representatives of Islamic movements from various countries, also addressed the gathering.
