PPP Decides to Immediately Submit No-Confidence Motion Against AJK Prime Minister

Muzaffarabad: The Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) has decided to immediately submit a no-confidence motion against Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) Prime Minister Chaudhry Anwar-ul-Haq, reactivating its efforts to remove him from office.

According to sources, the top PPP leadership has instructed its lawmakers to reach Muzaffarabad without delay. Signatures of supporting members have already been secured on the no-confidence resolution, while the name of the new Leader of the House will be added at the final stage.

Sources report that Prime Minister Chaudhry Anwar-ul-Haq has begun farewell meetings with his staff, while PPP AJK President Chaudhry Yasin is being considered the leading candidate for the prime ministerial slot.

The Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) is also expected to support the PPP in the no-confidence move, which is likely to be submitted today. The process had earlier been delayed due to constitutional amendments passed in Pakistan.

For the motion to succeed, a simple majority of 27 votes is required in the AJK Legislative Assembly. However, PPP sources claim to have the backing of more than 36 members.
