Trump Announces $2,000 Dividend for U.S. Citizens from Tariff Revenues

WASHINGTON:Former U.S. President **Donald Trump** has announced that a large portion of the **revenue generated from trade tariffs** will be distributed among American citizens in the form of **dividends**.
In a post shared on his social media platform, **Truth Social**, on Sunday, Trump stated that **every American citizen will receive at least $2,000**, although **high-income earners will be excluded** from the scheme.
“We are collecting trillions of dollars and will soon begin paying off **$37 trillion in national debt**. Every person (except high earners) will get at least $2,000,” Trump wrote.
Meanwhile, **foreign media outlets** have reported that the **U.S. Supreme Court** is currently reviewing the **legality of Trump’s trade tariff policy**, which several lower courts had previously deemed **unlawful**.
It is worth noting that in **October**, Trump had proposed the idea of giving **$1,000 to $2,000** to citizens, claiming that the tariffs he imposed could generate **over $1 trillion in annual revenue** for the U.S. economy.
