Top Turkish Officials to Visit Pakistan Next Week for Talks on Afghanistan Tensions: President Erdoğan

**Islamabad (Qudrat Daily)** – Turkish President **Recep Tayyip Erdoğan** has announced that **Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan**, **Defense Minister Yasar Guler**, and **Intelligence Chief Ibrahim Kalin** will visit **Islamabad next week** to discuss the growing tensions between **Pakistan and Afghanistan**.

President Erdoğan made the announcement on Sunday while speaking to reporters upon his return from **Azerbaijan**.

According to diplomatic sources, the **Pakistan–Afghanistan talks held in Istanbul** ended **without any agreement**. The two sides failed to reach a consensus on a mechanism to monitor **cross-border terrorism**.

Pakistan’s Defense Minister **Khawaja Asif** confirmed that “the talks have concluded” and are now “suspended indefinitely.” He accused the **Afghan Taliban delegation** of participating “without a clear plan” and of **refusing to sign a written agreement**.

Mediators from **Turkey and Qatar** attempted to facilitate dialogue between the two delegations, but **no direct meeting** took place on Friday. The **Pakistani delegation** was led by **ISI Director General Lt. Gen. Asim Malik**, while the **Afghan side** was headed by **GDI Chief Abdul Haq Wasiq**.

According to Foreign Office spokesperson **Tahir Hussain Andrabi**, the Pakistani team presented its position “with concrete evidence and arguments” and conveyed its demands to the Afghan representatives through the mediators.

Sources said that although the talks have stalled, the **temporary ceasefire between the two countries remains intact**.

Meanwhile, **Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi** held separate telephone conversations with **Pakistan’s Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar** and **Afghanistan’s Foreign Minister Amir Khan Muttaqi**, expressing Iran’s readiness to **assist in resolving differences** between the two neighboring nations.
