Sher Afzal Marwat Advises Hamid Khan to Quit Politics and “Seek Repentance in the Mosque Courtyard

**Islamabad (Qudrat News)** — Member of the National Assembly **Sher Afzal Marwat** has strongly criticized senior lawyer **Hamid Khan**, saying that his remarks labeling **Intizar Hussain Panjutha** as a spy for the establishment reflect a “toxic mindset” prevalent within a faction of **Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI)** — one that resorts to accusations of betrayal when logic fails.
In a statement posted on X, Marwat said, *“Intizar Panjutha was neither my ally nor my admirer. We often disagreed and criticized each other. But in fairness, both Panjutha and his brother Naeem Haider stood at the front line when it came to defending Imran Khan and PTI’s legal battles. They endured hardships, faced pressure, and prioritized the party’s interests over personal comfort.”*
The PTI lawmaker termed the decision to award Hamid Khan a **Senate ticket** as “highly unwise,” arguing that it was made not on merit or performance but due to *“a circle of flattering loyalists around Imran Khan.”* He said that such poor internal decisions and infighting were key reasons behind PTI-affiliated lawyers’ defeat in the **Supreme Court Bar elections**.
Taking a jibe at Hamid Khan’s recent statements, Sher Afzal Marwat remarked, *“It is now time for Hamid Khan to withdraw from the sharp-edged debates of politics and seek repentance in the mosque courtyard. Given his age, mindset, and recent incoherent speeches — political debate is no longer his domain; perhaps ablution water is what he needs more now.”*
He added that certain PTI circles still fail to understand that *“disagreement is not betrayal.”* Marwat warned, *“If everyone who disagrees is branded an ‘agent,’ then soon no one will be willing to stand by your side.”*
