KP Police Withdraw Security of ANP Chief Aimal Wali Khan Despite CM’s Assurance

PESHAWAR: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) police have withdrawn the security detail of Awami National Party (ANP) central president Aimal Wali Khan, ignoring directives from Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur to maintain his protection.

According to sources, following the withdrawal of federal security, the KP police also recalled the personnel assigned to Aimal Wali Khan, leaving him without any official security. Despite the chief minister’s assurance to continue the security arrangements, the police officers were ordered to report back to headquarters this morning.

Reacting to the development, an ANP spokesperson said the chief minister had promised to retain the security, but his orders were blatantly disregarded. “We appreciate the chief minister for taking a clear stance, but it seems he too has no real authority,” the spokesperson added.

ANP leader Engineer Ihsanullah Khan criticized the move, saying, “The partners of the hybrid regime have taken the chief minister hostage; he stands powerless before the inspector general.” He announced that the ANP will decide on a new course of action today to address the complete withdrawal of security from party chief Aimal Wali Khan.
