National Party Condemns Killing of Farmer’s Driver in Mastung, Demands Action Against Security Personnel

Quetta:The provincial spokesman of the National Party has strongly condemned the killing of an unarmed farm worker in Mastung, reportedly by security forces, and demanded immediate legal action against the responsible personnel and officers.
In a statement, the spokesman described the incident as a grave act carried out for extortion purposes, accusing armed men — including some members of security formations — of routinely terrorizing civilians and collecting protection money. He said families who work hard to feed their children are being humiliated and their homes destroyed when they refuse to pay.
The National Party called for an FIR to be registered against the implicated personnel and for their immediate arrest. The party also demanded the removal of “unnecessary” checkposts, an end to extortion by security forces, and the immediate restoration of policing and customs powers from the Frontier Corps (FC) back to the police and relevant civil authorities.
The spokesman warned that in Balochistan there is effectively “rule by gunmen,” leaving citizens at the mercy of armed elements, and urged authorities to act swiftly to restore law, order and citizens’ dignity. Police have been asked to investigate the incident.
