Soha Ali Khan Reveals She Was Replaced by Rani Mukerji in Her Debut Film

MUMBAI: Bollywood actress Soha Ali Khan, daughter of the Pataudi family and sister of Saif Ali Khan, has revealed that she was removed from her debut film and replaced by Rani Mukerji.

In a recent interview, Soha shared that director Amol Palekar had initially cast her in the film *Paheli*. However, when Shah Rukh Khan joined the project as the lead actor, the filmmakers decided to drop her and bring in Rani Mukerji instead.

Soha recalled that she had quit her well-paying corporate banking job and abandoned her plans to settle in London to pursue the film. The sudden replacement left her shocked and financially unstable, as she even struggled to pay her rent at the time.

Despite the setback, Soha went on to act in the Bengali film *Iti Srikanta* in 2004, followed by her Bollywood debut *Dil Maange More* the same year. Though the film failed at the box office, she later rose to fame with *Rang De Basanti*, which established her as a recognized actress in the industry.
