Iman Mazari Submits Additional Documents in Complaint Against IHC Chief Justice Sarfraz Dogar

Islamabad: Prominent human rights lawyer Advocate Iman Zainab Mazari has submitted additional documents to the Supreme Judicial Council (SJC) in her complaint against Islamabad High Court (IHC) Chief Justice Sarfraz Dogar.
The newly filed documents include a notification regarding the change in the head of the IHC Women’s Harassment Committee.
A day earlier, Mazari had approached the SJC, arguing that Chief Justice Dogar made remarks about her in open court that were unbecoming of a judge. In her complaint, she stated that such conduct violated constitutional and judicial norms, urging the SJC to take action.
Among the fresh documents is the IHC notification that removed Justice Saman Riffat Imtiaz as the head of the Women’s Harassment Committee. According to the circular, her removal stemmed from her decision to establish the committee and issue its notification.
Justice Imtiaz, while serving as chair, had formed a three-member committee comprising Justice Sardar Ejaz Ishaq Khan, Justice Arbab Muhammad Tahir, and herself. Sources said the committee’s mandate was to review complaints filed against judges. However, the procedure for issuing the notification was cited as the primary reason for her replacement.
The Supreme Judicial Council is the constitutional forum empowered to hear complaints of misconduct and related matters against members of the superior judiciary.
