Akshay Kumar and Saif Ali Khan Reunite After 18 Years for Priyadarshan’s New Film ‘Haiwan’

Mumbai: Bollywood superstars Akshay Kumar and Saif Ali Khan are all set to share the screen once again after 18 years, as they begin shooting for director Priyadarshan’s upcoming film *Haiwan*. The film’s production has officially kicked off in the Indian state of Kerala.

Akshay Kumar recently shared a behind-the-scenes video from the set, where he can be seen in a cheerful mood alongside Saif Ali Khan and director Priyadarshan. In the video, Akshay is wearing a T-shirt that reads “Buzurg” (Elderly) and holding a clapperboard. Priyadarshan jokingly commented that the T-shirt should actually say “Haiwan” (Beast).

Laughing, Akshay responded that Saif Ali Khan would be playing the “devil” in the film — sometimes the one everyone recognizes, and sometimes the one no one sees. Akshay added that every person has a bit of a devil inside — some appear elderly on the outside but are beasts within.

Speaking about his reunion with Saif, Akshay expressed his happiness at working with him again after nearly two decades. The duo last appeared together in the 2008 action-comedy film *Tashan*.

*Haiwan* is a Hindi remake of Priyadarshan’s 2016 Malayalam psychological thriller *Oppam*. The film also stars Kajol, Bobby Deol, and Erna Haraldsson in pivotal roles. It is slated for release in 2026.
