Khawaja Asif Denies Resigning as Defense Minister

Islamabad: Minister of Defense Khawaja Asif has rejected reports claiming he resigned from his position. In a post on the social media platform “X,” Khawaja Asif clarified that the news was merely based on the wishes of the individual spreading it, and he had not submitted any resignation from his ministerial role.
It had been reported on social media that Khawaja Asif had sent his resignation to Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif following the arrest of the Deputy Commissioner (ADC) of Sialkot in a corruption case.
Additionally, Khawaja Asif had recently made headlines for his remarks about the bureaucracy, stating that over half of the country’s bureaucrats had purchased property in Portugal, with many more preparing to acquire citizenship. He criticized these prominent bureaucrats, alleging they were living luxurious retirements after amassing billions of rupees.
