Pakistan Rejects Indian Claims on ‘Operation Mahadeo’, Calls for Accountability

Islamabad: The spokesperson for Pakistan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs has rejected India’s claims regarding “Operation Mahadeo”, stating that these allegations hold no significance for Pakistan. The reaction came after discussions in the Indian Parliament about “Operation Sundar”. The spokesperson emphasized that Pakistan firmly rejects the baseless and provocative statements made by Indian leaders regarding “Operation Sundar” and warned that such rhetoric could escalate regional tensions.
The spokesperson also referred to India’s attack on Pakistan on the night of May 6-7, asserting that India had launched the offensive without any evidence or investigation into the Pulwama attack. The attack resulted in the tragic deaths of innocent civilians, including women and children. However, Pakistan managed to neutralize Indian fighter jets and military targets effectively, marking a decisive success for Pakistan’s defense forces.
In response to Indian claims, the spokesperson advised Indian leaders to acknowledge the losses suffered by their military rather than misleading their public. Furthermore, Pakistan extended an offer for an independent investigation into the Pulwama attack, which India chose to disregard. The spokesperson accused India of acting as judge, jury, and executioner in the matter.
Pakistan also dismissed the so-called “Operation Mahadeo” as a fabricated claim, questioning the timing of the deaths of the alleged perpetrators of the Pulwama attack, coinciding with the start of the Lok Sabha debate. The Pakistani spokesperson reiterated that Pakistan would continue to respond strongly to any future acts of aggression.
Additionally, the spokesperson highlighted the recent visit of Finance Minister Ishaq Dar to the United States from July 20-28, during which he chaired a United Nations Security Council meeting and presented Pakistan’s viewpoint. During his visit to Washington, Dar also held talks with U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio, discussing global and regional issues.
