Karachi: Female Teacher Assaulted and Threatened at Private School by Student’s Family at Gunpoint

Karachi: In a disturbing incident reported in the Jamshed Quarters area of Karachi, a female teacher at a private school was allegedly assaulted and threatened at gunpoint by the parents and relatives of a student. According to police, a First Information Report (FIR) has been registered at the Jamshed Quarters Police Station on the complaint of the victim.
The FIR states that on May 16, teacher Maria scolded student Eshal Shahid for arriving late to school and gave her a minor disciplinary punishment by making her stand for a short time. Eshal was reportedly a habitual latecomer. Following this, Eshal’s mother visited the school and verbally abused the teacher in the principal’s office.
The situation escalated two days later when Eshal’s father Shahid, her uncle Abdul Hafeez, and her mother returned to the school. According to the FIR, the school staff tried to stop them from entering. However, Abdul Hafeez, wearing police uniform pants, allegedly pulled out a weapon and identified himself as the SHO of Kalakot Police Station, forcing his way into the premises.
Hafeez is accused of bringing in his sister and brother-in-law at gunpoint and then barging into the classroom where the teacher was located. He verbally abused the teacher and issued life threats.
The victim stated that upon the principal’s request, she went to the office to offer an apology, but even there, she was subjected to further verbal harassment and threats.
Police have launched an investigation into the incident. The teacher and school administration have urged higher authorities to take immediate notice and ensure strict action against those involved in this act of violence and intimidation.
