PTI Leader Saima Khalid Announces to Challenge Senate By-Election in Court Over Alleged Fake Vote

ISLAMABAD:Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader and independent candidate, **Saima Khalid**, has announced her decision to approach the court against the recent Senate by-election, alleging that a **fake vote** was found during the polling process.

In a statement, Saima Khalid claimed that a **vote was discovered without the Returning Officer’s signature**, raising serious concerns about the legitimacy of the election. She expressed her dissatisfaction with the Senate election and vowed to file a **petition in court** against it.

“PTI’s founding leader always opposed rigging,” Saima Khalid emphasized, asserting that she would follow the vision of her leader and pursue justice in court for the sake of truth.

The by-election for the vacant Senate seat in **Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly** was held following the resignation of **Sania Nishtar**. In the election, **Mashal Yousafzai**, an independent candidate supported by the ruling government, was declared the winner with **86 votes**. On the other hand, **Mehtab Zafar**, an independent candidate supported by the opposition, secured **53 votes**.

However, the third independent candidate, **Saima Khalid**, received only **one vote** in the election.
