Govt Spokesperson Shahid Rind Criticizes Senator Aimal Wali Khan for ‘Irresponsible’ Remarks on Degaari Incident

Quetta, Pakistan:In a strong response to the recent statements made by Senator Aimal Wali Khan, the Spokesperson for the Government of Balochistan, Shahid Rind, condemned his political point-scoring tactics over the tragic **Degaari incident**. Rind termed the senator’s comments as a “political maneuver” and criticized his lack of sensitivity to the gravity of the situation.

**”Turning a tragic human incident into a political tool is not only irresponsible but also highly condemnable,”** Shahid Rind said. He accused Senator Aimal Wali Khan of using inappropriate language when critiquing the position taken by **Chief Minister Mir Sarfaraz Bugti** on the incident. According to Rind, this reflects Khan’s “intellectual weakness” and his apparent ignorance of the situation in Balochistan.

Rind clarified that the **Chief Minister, Mir Sarfaraz Bugti**, is a responsible leader, not an investigative officer, and he has taken immediate action since the tragic incident occurred. **”The Chief Minister not only took swift notice of the matter but also formed a high-level investigative team, personally overseeing its progress,”** Rind added. He emphasized that the Chief Minister has been standing with the victims since day one and is taking concrete steps to ensure justice is served.

Shahid Rind also criticized Senator Aimal Wali Khan for “playing politics” at a time when the people of Balochistan are grieving a tragic incident. **”While the people of Balochistan are suffering, Aimal Wali Khan is busy with political slogans and point-scoring, which is not only unethical but amounts to rubbing salt into the wounds of the victims,”** Rind said.

In a pointed question, Rind asked, **”What role has Aimal Wali Khan played for Balochistan so far?”** He further questioned Khan’s ability to address the problems of his own province, **”If he has failed to resolve issues in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, he should refrain from giving unsolicited opinions on Balochistan.”**

Rind also accused the senator of being unfamiliar with the history, social structure, and traditions of Balochistan, calling his comments **”entirely factually inaccurate and biased.”** He reiterated that the case of the Degaari incident is a top priority for **state institutions and security forces**, and that all responsible citizens are seeking justice. However, **”Aimal Wali Khan is attempting to play politics even at such a sensitive moment,”** Rind remarked.

The spokesperson made it clear that **”Chief Minister Mir Sarfaraz Bugti has been an advocate of democratic, transparent, and people-friendly governance,”** and has long been fighting against the **Sardari (tribal chieftain) and Jirga (tribal council)** systems that Khan has often spoken against.

**”Using the name of the victims to create a political narrative for personal gain is a disgraceful act,”** Rind said, emphasizing that the people of Balochistan are aware of such political tactics and would not allow anyone to make a mockery of their struggles.

Shahid Rind also issued a stern warning to Aimal Wali Khan, urging him to stop exploiting the situation for political gain, **”Otherwise, the public backlash may be unbearable for him.”**
