Born on July 16, 1983, Katrina’s birth name was Katrina Turquotte. Her father, Mohammed Kaif, is a British citizen of Kashmiri descent, and her mother, Suzanne Turquotte, is of English origin. Katrina is the youngest among eight siblings — six sisters and one brother. Following her parents’ divorce at a young age, Katrina was raised solely by her mother.
Due to her mother’s profession as a teacher of English as a foreign language, Katrina spent her childhood across various countries including Hong Kong, China, Japan, France, Switzerland, Poland, Belgium, Hawaii, and finally the UK, where she lived for three years starting at age 14.
