Actress Sana Nawaz Defends Showbiz Industry, Emphasizes the Importance of Understanding Personal Struggles
Lahore: Following the tragic death of renowned actress and model Humaira Asghar, social media users have been criticizing her family, while expressing their anger towards celebrities in the showbiz industry. Amidst the severe backlash, actress Sana Nawaz stepped up to defend the industry.
In a video message shared on social media, Sana Nawaz addressed the critics, stating, “People say that friendships in showbiz are fake and that we are all hypocrites. I would like to tell them that even if someone has thousands of friends or colleagues, when a person is hurting inside and feels abandoned by their loved ones, no matter how much the world tries to connect them, a broken person cannot be healed.”
She continued, “We are often too quick to judge others, without knowing what they are going through in their personal lives. Humaira Asghar was living alone, which in itself is a painful situation. And when you don’t have anyone to reach out to, the difficulties only multiply.”
Sana also called out the role of social media in making people feel isolated, saying, “Today, people have become lonelier because of social media. The system we live in now is such that we think we can understand each other through video messages or TikTok videos. However, it’s important to stay connected with your parents, siblings, and loved ones because no one can understand you better than them.”
She concluded by sharing a personal experience, “At this moment, it might not be appropriate to discuss it, but you all did not know what was happening in my life. Could anyone have known what I was going through just by looking at the pictures or videos I posted on social media? We have become distant from each other, and detached from our emotions, because of social media.”
